Arizona Juniors Hunts

Arizona Juniors Only: Overview

Arizona Juniors hunts

Arizona has fantastic opportunities to get youth ages 10-17 involved in the outdoors. Coues whitetail, mule deer, cow elk, javelina, and spring turkey hunts, all have junior only seasons. The draw for these hunts is only open to kids, making draw odds that much better. Once afield, your kids will experience hunting with far fewer hunters.

We work hard to present opportunities for success, while teaching your about kid hunting safety and strategies, animal behavior, and respect for the outdoors.

All kids under the age of 14 must have successfully completed a hunters education course. Contact the Arizona Department of Game and Fish for details and dates of a hunters safety course near you.

Arizona Juniors Only: Seasons

Seasons vary throughout the year depending upon the species and units. Please refer to the Arizona Department of Game and Fish for details on open units, species, and season dates. All big game animals except for turkey can only be hunted with a valid permit-tag received through a successful juniors lottery draw. Contact us early for help with the application process.

Juniors-only deer season coincides with fall javelina season. This is great opportunity to introduce your son or daughter to the excitement of hunting by having the chance to hunt more than one species.

Juniors-only, spring turkey, non-permit tags are available for purchase over the counter. Don't miss this easy chance to help your loved one develop an appreciation for the outdoors. Borderland Adventures hosts an annual Juniors Spring Turkey Camp in Arizona's White Mountains each spring. Bring the family and the shotgun, and come join us for a fun and educational experience.
