Meet our Coues deer and Elk nuts

Matt Woodward | Owner/Guide

Matt has hunted big game throughout the southwest for over 20 years, with both a bow and rifle. When given the time to actually be the hunter, Matt consistently takes large animals. He has a particular penchant for big Coues bucks and Arizona's trophy bull elk, but also enjoys chasing desert mule deer and other big game animals.

He left Arizona for a short time to complete his schooling in Turf Grass Management at Penn State University, but the borderlands soon called him home. Upon returning Matt became known for his wealth of knowledge and experience while hunting and guiding clients to big game species throughout the southwest. Matt is a dedicated guide and sportsman. His love of the land and all southwest species of wildlife are an integral part of his outfitting business.

Matt lives in Southern Arizona with his wife Jamie, and their four year old son Trent.

Jaime Woodward | Logistics

Jamie is driving force behind Borderland Adventures. Her organizational master skills arrange all of the logistics for each BLA trip. She keeps everything running smoothly, regardless of which country we're in.

In the field, she keeps our bellies full with incredible home-cooked meals, dutch oven cooking, and irresistable deserts.

She's been known to out shoot the boys from time to time, consistently bringing home solid bucks, and leaves us in the dust on the trail.

When planning your adventure, know that Jaime will ensure that every detail is seen to and your trip will run like a fine Swiss timepeice. We certainly could not do it without her.

Tom Kemintz | Professional Guide Extrordinaire

Arizona Native Tom Kemnitz has been guiding in Arizona for over 20 years. A master elk hunter, Tom will be YOUR key to success on a great archery or rifle bull in Arizona. His summers are spent guiding fisherman and whitewater rafters in Idaho, with fall and winter spent in search of Southwestern trophy animals.

As a traditional archer, you can count on Tom to get you close to your quarry. Tom has hunted throughout the western US, Africa, and Canada. The experiences he brings to Borderland Adventures is priceless. Tom is a Triathelete in his "free" time.

Justin"Moose" Flores | Professional Guide

Justin has killed more mature animals than winter. 'Nuff said. Well, almost. Logging hundreds of mile a year in Arizona's backcountry, Justin is a magnet for monster animals. His history on spot and stalk bears is second to none. B&C Coues deer? World Class Elk? Justin is your go-to guy. He has proven year after year that he can get it done in any situation. After a week spend chasing bucks with Justin, we are confident we will see you back in camp next year to do it again.

Noah Flores | Professional Guide

Whether you after big, slick desert Muleys, heavy horned Coues bucks or hard rutting Bulls, Noah Flores already knows where your next trophy animal is living. Constantly in the field, his knowledge of of the bucks and bulls in his areas is what separates Borderland Adventures from the rest. Born and raised in the rim country of central Arizona, Noah has hunted extensively throughout the state and his track record of mature animals says it all.

Josh Groves | Field Support

Josh is our Jack-of-all-trades. From welding to Bbq ribs on the grill, Josh keeps our hunts running smooth. He is in camp so our hunters and guides don't have to be. When you pull in from long day in the field and the fire is blazing, dinner is ready, and he has located a few extra bucks or bulls for tomorrow, you'll know why Josh is one of our most valuable assets.
