Meet The Team

Matt Woodward

Matt has hunted Southwestern big game since he was a child, with bow, rifle, and muzzleloader. He has guided over 15 years, and founded Borderland Adventures 11 years ago.

Matt is known for his wealth of knowledge and experience while hunting and guiding clients to big game species throughout the southwest. Matt is a dedicated guide, sportsman, and conservationist. His love of the land and all southwest species of wildlife are an integral part of his outfitting business.

Matt lives in central Arizona with his wife Jamie, and their 11 year old son Trent.

Jaime Woodward

Jamie is driving force behind Borderland Adventures. Her organizational master skills arrange all of the logistics for each BLA trip. She keeps everything running smoothly, regardless of which country we’re in.

In the field, she keeps our bellies full with incredible home-cooked meals, dutch oven cooking, and irresistable deserts.

She’s been known to out shoot the boys from time to time, consistently bringing home solid bucks, and leaves us in the dust on the trail.

When planning your adventure, know that Jaime will ensure that every detail is seen to and your trip will run like a fine Swiss timepeice. We certainly could not do it without her.

Mario Guisto

Mario is a hardcore hunter, fisherman and guide, and has been with Borderland since 2010. He resides in Hood River, OR, with his wife and daughter. Mario operates his Cherry Orchard in the offseason, leaving him lots of time to hunt big animals and steelhead. He is a passionate outdoorsman and hunts and guides for multiple species, in multiple states, each year.

Andrew Dykes

Andrew was born and raised in Utah where he lived until he was 19. After joining the Marine Corps and traveling the world for 14 years he settled in Yuma, Arizona, where he now lives with his wife and three kids. Andrew hunts many states each year for a variety of species. Coues deer hunts in Mexico are his passion but he has been lucky to harvest many different animals with a variety of weapons.

Steve Doyle

Steve resides in Central Arizona and has been with us since the beginning, as one of Matt’s lifelong friends and hunting partners. Steve specializes in Coues deer hunts in Sonora, and his success rate shows it. His energetic hunting style will keep you laughing and on big deer the duration of your hunt!

Dillon Currie

An Arizona native and successful big game hunter, Dillon guides for Borderland Adventures in Arizona, New Mexico, and Mexico. While he hunts Coues, Muleys, and Elk with expertise, Dillon’s passion is hunting big Bears. He is also the owner of Chase’n the King, LLC, and outfits Black Bear hunts in Central Arizona. Dillon is married, with a young daughter. He has a degree in Agribusiness Economics and Management from the University of Arizona.

Cory Relling

You’ll find Cory south of the border in January. He guides winter Coues and Mule deer hunts in Sonora, and kills time in the summer on the rivers of Oregon. Cory is a masonry contractor by trade, an intense hunter, and a valuable asset to the Borderland Team.

Johnnie Morris

Coues deer have been Johhnie’s passion since he was a kid. He lives in Yum, AZ, with his wife and two sons, where he has worked as a Fire Captian/paramedic for 16 years. He spends his free time with his family, and chasing big Largemouth bass.

He has been big game hunting for many years and has developed a serious passion for hunting the elusive coues deer. He is grateful for every opportunity he gets to spend in the outdoors.

Tony Stanley

Tony is a born and raised Arizona native. Growing up in the Phoenix valley, he has spent his entire life chasing mule deer, elk, coues deer and every other species that calls the southwest home. He has been lucky enough to harvest several trophy animals and help with many others. When not hunting Tony is a full time superintendant for Banicki Construction.
